CelCradle™ is a disposable bioreactor capable of high density cell culture for protein expression, virus and monoclonal antibody production. It is designed based on the concept of bellow-induced intermittent flow of media and air through porous matrices, where cells reside. This provides a low shear, high aeration, and foam-free culture environment.

During operation, the CelCradle™ bottle is partially filled with media and inoculated with cells. The media is raised and lowered alternately to submerge and expose the matrices, creating a dynamic interface between air and media on cell surface to maximize nutrient uptake and oxygen transfer.

CelCradle™ is the only single-use packed bed bioreactor that has linear scalability from bench-scale to production scale with automated cell harvesting.

TideCell® High Density bioreactor system is the extended large scale system of the lab scale CelCradle® bioreactor system. In this system, a matrix vessel is packed with porous BioNoc™ II carriers and functions as an artificial lung with huge contact surface for nutrition and aeration. Culture medium is periodically drawn from an external medium bag (mixing bag) into the matrix vessel to submerge the carriers and withdrawn from the vessel to expose the carriers. As a result, cells entrapped within the carriers are able to receive sufficient nutrient and oxygen, while metabolic wastes such as lactate and carbon dioxide can be efficiently carried away in a gentle manner.
